Michelangelo Buonarroti was a sculptor, an architect, an engineer, and a poet. Five hundred years ago he painted the ceiling of the Vatican's Sistine Chapel, which is now considered one of the world's most famous works of art. That secret is that within this citadel of Christianity lies perhaps the greatest subversive act in the history of art. This lecture concerns the unique ideas, obsessions, and genius of the great Michelangelo.
