Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), the 26th President of the United States (1901-1909), has been ranked among the five best Presidents in American history. We will examine his life before the Presidency, the great impact he had on the office, on the promotion of "progressivism" in American government, his growing commitment to a role in international affairs, his historic third-party campaign for President as a "Bull Moose" Progressive in the 1912 Presidential Election; and his other post-Presidency activities in a life that still inspires Americans a century later. A PowerPoint will enhance the program, and questions and comments are welcome at the end of the lecture.
