Witches in History, Literature and Culture   

Across cultures and history, the witch, a fearsome figure of fairytale and myth, has found a place in human imagination. Often representing the dark side of female power beyond control, witches and witchcraft have been subjects of fascination and fear. Join us as we delve into the historical and literary realms of witch-hunts and trials, examining their impact on society. Additionally, we'll explore the portrayal of the female witch in popular culture and delve into modern witchery. Don't miss this opportunity to unravel the mysteries surrounding witches and their enduring influence on our collective psyche. 

Helene Herman, a retired marketing executive with over 30 years of global experience, now lectures on a wide range of historical and cultural topics. Formerly President of a 400-member lifelong learning club in Florida, she draws on her anthropology degree from NYU to bring depth and insight to her presentations.
