Pop-Up: A Still-Unfinished Tale of Two Epic Cases?

Adjunct Professor Labovitz from FAU usually starts his legal and Constitution classes in October. However, two recent important decisions have led to many questions from his OLLI students, so he has graciously agreed to discuss these issues even during the summer! First: A recent unexpected Supreme Court decision has left people wondering if a former U.S. President can be held accountable for serious crimes committed while in office. Is the idea that "no one is above the law" still a core principle of our Constitution? Second: A Florida federal judge dismissed the Mar-a-Lago criminal case against a former President, using a legal theory that the Supreme Court rejected in the Nixon case and a similar current Appeals Court decision. Will the Supreme Court connect these two decisions? Is our mid-summer heat getting even warmer? Join Dr. Labovitz to find out!

Live In-Person with Video Catch-up. Available 2-3 business days after live lecture. You will have approximately two weeks to view the video.
