Seminar: The Future of Florida's Coasts: What We Can Learn from the History of Tampa Bay

This lecture is designed to address issues facing Florida's coasts, from pollution to sea level rise, based on my recent book, "Tampa Bay: The Story of an Estuary and Its People." Students are not expected to have read the book before attending, but it is encouraged. Through a discussion of the history of Tampa Bay, particularly efforts to clean and restore the bay, students will have a greater understanding of the causes of the threats facing Florida's coasts and insights into the steps necessary to address those challenges. This program is being presented as a seminar with limited enrollment to foster discussion.
