Seminar: Birding Basics 101: Basic Birding ID Skills to Enjoy the Wonder of Birds

Looking for a fun hobby you can do anywhere and anytime? Join Scott Zucker, President of Audubon Everglades, to nurture your love and knowledge of birds in this beginner’s birding (aka bird watching) class designed to improve your skills in bird identification. Birds come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors and make a variety of sounds. To help you become more familiar with the birds you see and hear around you, you’ll learn how to make use of binoculars, cameras, and cellphones as ID aids; understand the silhouettes of key bird groups; recognize signature field marks; identify the sounds and songs of birds; and navigate birding apps and websites that can help you better identify birds, record your data, and contribute to citizen science. Space is limited.
