While many are familiar with the chronology and events of the Holocaust, few know what happened to Jewish survivors after their liberation, which often did not coincide with the official end of the war. This powerful visual presentation will offer a deep dive into the post-liberation experience, contrasting the broader struggles in war-torn Europe with the personal stories of the speaker's parents and other surviving relatives, beginning the moment they were liberated. The term "liberation" may evoke celebrations, but for those barely alive in 1945, it was a moment of uncertainty. How did survivors, like Ettie’s family, navigate the years that followed, reunite with loved ones, and rebuild their lives in a divided and dangerous Europe? This compelling storytelling experience will shed light on their journey.
