Botanical Alchemy: Natural Dyeing on Silk   

Discover the magic of natural dyeing in this fun, hands-on workshop! Using flowers, leaves, onion skins, avocado pits, and more, you'll create a beautifully dyed silk scarf. Learn eco-friendly techniques like bundle dyeing and immersion baths, and explore the vibrant colors found in nature. We'll provide materials, including mordants, steaming equipment, brushes, gloves, and your own OLLI apron!. Optional: bring your own plant materials to experiment with! Wear clothes you don't mind getting messy. Come ready to play with nature's palette and leave with a unique, wearable work of art!

This workshop is being held at FAU's Ritter Art Gallery, Bldg. 39 (AG). The deadline for registration is Thursday, October 27th. Space is limited.

Véronique Côté, M.A., MFA, is the Galleries Director at FAU, with advanced degrees in Museum Studies, Photography, and Nonprofit Management. A French-Canadian Métisse and interdisciplinary scholar, she brings a curatorial vision rooted in visual anthropology and inclusive, cross-disciplinary collaboration, shaped by leadership roles at CEPA in Buffalo and the Pérez Art Museum Miami.
