Celebrate the rediscovery of Pietro Carlo Guglielmi, a Tuscan composer whose music once captivated audiences across Europe. His long-lost opera Amalia e Carlo (1812), forgotten for over two centuries, was recently uncovered by an FAU research team in a Tuscan castle. Now, it returns to the stage thanks to Dr. Barbara Salani's groundbreaking dissertation.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music, history, and cultural revival. The program begins with an optional round table discussion from 5:00-6:30 PM, led by Prof. Ilaria Serra, Dr. Salani, Dr. Alessandra Montali, and Dr. Devid Brubeck. These international scholars will share insights into Guglielmi's life and legacy. The evening concludes with a four-hand piano concert featuring Guglielmi's music, performed by Francesca Costa and Giovanni Giannini of the Puccini Conservatory, beginning at 7:00 PM. This event is free for FAU faculty, staff, and students.

Dr. Ilaria Serra, a native of Venice, is a Professor of Italian and Comparative Studies at Florida Atlantic University, where she coordinates the Italian Studies program and leads courses on Italian language, literature, film, and culture. A scholar of Italian emigration and cinema, she has published multiple books and essays, promotes student research through digital archives and international symposia, and directs FAU’s summer study abroad program in Venice.
