Featuring veteran underwater cinematographers, passionate scientists, volunteers, and students, DESCENT highlights both the devastation of coral bleaching and the inspiring resilience of those fighting to protect our marine ecosystems. With moving poetry by young voices and an unforgettable score, this film invites viewers to witness, reflect, and take action, one small step at a time. After the screening there will be an opportunity for Q&A with the Director, Rory Fielding. Documentary running time is 60 minutes. Rory F. Fielding is an Emmy-winning director and producer known for the nationally broadcast PBS documentary 1955, Seven Days of Fall, which earned multiple major awards. His recent works include the Emmy-nominated Troubled Waters featuring Ted Danson, and the upcoming PBS documentary We’re All Plastic People Now; he is also a New York University Film School graduate and former associate professor.
