Thank you for your interest in submitting a proposal to present at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Florida Atlantic University. 

 

Since 1980, OLLI has been offering programs to seasoned learners in a welcoming environment with state-of-the-art facilities across FAU's campuses in Jupiter and Boca Raton. Florida Atlantic University has been a pioneer in lifelong learning, boasting the longest-running and largest OLLI in the United States. Our institute serves as a national model for exemplary lifelong learning programs. 

 

OLLI at FAU runs programs year-round: 

Summer: June-August  

Fall Start: September-December 

Spring: January-April 

 

Call for Proposals: Our submission deadline for Summer/Fall 2025 is March 15, 2025. 

 

We are looking for: 

  • One-time lectures and performances  

  • 4, 6, and 8-week series 

  • Guided discussion and smaller seminars where participant interaction is welcome 

  • Guided tours/field excursions on any FAU campus or to new and exciting places in South Florida  

 

If you are new to this portal, you must first create an account, which includes a username and password along with your contact information and a short biography. Once that is established, you will be able to submit your proposal(s)! 

 

Proposal Guidelines: 

  • Program Description: The description of your proposal should not exceed 150 words and should be an engaging invitation for patrons to register for your program. Here is a link to our current catalogs. You can get a good idea of how to write your proposal from these examples. (Do not use all caps in any part of your submission) 

  • Lecture Description for Multi-Week Series: A sentence or two. 

  • Day and time availability 

  • Presentation Materials: While not required, presenters are strongly encouraged to supplement their lectures with visuals or other media.  

  • Equipment Request: Indicate use of PowerPoint, CD, DVD, or any other media. Note: No homemade-burned videos will be accepted. 

 

After the submission deadline, our OLLI Curriculum Committee will evaluate your proposal. If it is accepted, we will work with you to schedule your program. 

 

Compensation: Our compensation structure is based on student enrollment:

* Presenters receive $5.00 per explorer ticket after the minimum is reached 

 

 

 

OLLI  reserves the right to cancel programs or renegotiate compensation due to insufficient enrollments.  

 

If your program is accepted, you will receive, along with a contract, a waiver for video catch-up. There are three choices you will need to make: 

1) Yes to video catch-up for enrolled patrons and future sales 
2) Yes to video catch-up for enrolled patrons only 
3) No to video catch-up

Jupiter: The Eleanor Bernon Rosenthal Lifelong Learning Complex, 5353 Parkside Drive, PA 134

  • Stage (auditorium only) 

  • Large screen

  • Wired and Wireless Mics 

  • Operator Controlled South Booth (auditorium only) 

  • AV Manager on-site throughout the presentation 

  • Stage Lights System and House Lights (auditorium only) 

  • Green Room (auditorium only) 

  • Baby Grand Piano (auditorium only) 

  • DVD/Blu-Ray 

  • Analog Overhead Projector 

  • Doc Cam (classroom only) 

  • Devices for the Hearing Impaired (auditorium only) 

  • T-coil (auditorium only) 

  • Internet Access 

  • HDMI Available( Jupiter auditorium and classroom, Boca classroom) 

  • If you intend to utilize your own personal laptop, it must be a Microsoft-compatible PC.   

  • We strongly recommend you send AV media in advance of your program.
